Although he is currently in hiding, Muammar Qaddafi has pledged to battle opposition forces until the bitter end. He told his supporters to "continue the resistance" in a recorded message broadcast by Arabic language satellite station. "The battle will be long and let Libya burn."
The revolutionary forces took over the country's capital, Tripoli, in late August, forcing Qaddafi to go into hiding. According to some reports, Qaddafi may be in the town of Bani Walid, one of his remaining strongholds. Rebels have given three pro-Qaddafi communities, including Bani Walid, until Saturday to surrender. Qaddafi, however, has said that "there is no way they will submit."
